Itinerary

This activity begins at the Ribeira dos Caldeirões Natural Park, one of the most extraordinary places in the northeastern part of the island of São Miguel (+/- 45 minutes by car from the city of Ponta Delgada). When we arrive there, we will proceed with the distribution of the equipment and then we will start a short walk of about 15 minutes to our first stop where we will do our first safety briefing

Then, we will continue climbing and stop for our second safety briefing and how to rappel before continuing for another 10 minutes to the start of the canyon where the fun will begin!

Once you reach the top of the first waterfall, the second part of your adventure will begin. You can count on several jumps between 2 and 7 meters high (all optional), a natural slide (toboggan) and some rappels (between 5 and 15 m high). At the end of the adventure, we will return to the starting point

NOTE:
• The exact itinerary, including jumps, rappels, and other techniques, depends on local conditions and seasons. The terrain, landscape, and stream change normally throughout the year.
• If you feel uncomfortable, for each obstacle there are different alternatives

After the canyoning experience it's time for a well-deserved lunch. We will go to the town of Furnas where you will taste a traditional dish, the “Furnas stew”, at a local restaurant. Stew is a mixture of meat and vegetables that are placed in a pot and then buried in the ground next to the boilers, cooked slowly by the natural heat

Then, we will take a short walk to the Volcanic Boilers to take a closer look at the fumarolic fields and mineral, cold and thermal springs.

We will continue with the visit to Terra Nostra Park where you can stroll through the botanical garden with its vast collection of trees and plants and/or relax in the therapeutic waters of this place.
