Ride a mountain bike in the dirt roads of Nordeste, the most well-preserved municipality of São Miguel Island. The entire way, there is a slight descending slope, so this is a very easy cycling experience.
The ride starts in the mountains, in an area full of native vegetation of the Azores, then continues into a dense forest and finally opens into great views of green pastures and cows, all the way to the ocean.
Have a picnic in a nice lookout over the Nordeste coastline of with its typical high cliffs.
In the afternoon, go on one of the most beautiful hiking trails in São Miguel island. Hike along a water stream and reach secluded waterfalls. You will see 3 beautiful waterfalls along the trail and can even bathe in one of them if you like! The trail also has other points of interest, like an old water mill and the jungle type vegetation only found in the most secluded areas of the island.
