Tomar and the Convent of Christ
Travel through the landscapes of Ribatejo and reach Tomar. Visit the Convent of the Order of Christ, originally built by the Knights Templar, and explore the Templar Castle, the Romanesque round church, the Manueline aisle, the Renaissance cloister and the monastic enclosures. Discover how the Knights Templar created the Order of Christ and how the latter became crucial during the Age of Discovery.
Alcobaça - World Heritage Site
the 12th century Alcobaça Monastery, founded by the first Portuguese king, Afonso Henriques. Due to its size, the purity of the architectural style, the quality of the materials and the care with which it was built, it was listed as a World Heritage Site in 1989. At the end of your experience, you will return to your point of origin.
Batalha
Batalha, a 14th century monastery built in fulfillment of a promise made by King João I in gratitude for the victory in a battle against Castile. This secured the throne and guaranteed Portugal's independence. You will then attend the Batalha Monastery, a national Gothic building influenced by Manueline art. Afterwards, you'll have an hour of free time for lunch in the town of Batalha.
Then we will visit the beautiful town of Nazare famous for its big waves and its World Surf Championship.
Upon returning we will pass to Óbidos to taste the famous Ginginha
